The German job seeker visa is short-term residence title, which allows you to live in Germany and look for a job. According to § 20 of the Residence Act (AufenthG), qualified applicants can be granted a temporary residence permit for up to six months in order to seek employment for which they are qualified on the basis of their experience. If at the end of the six months they have found a place of employment, they are eligible to apply for a work permit or the EU Blue Card.
Please note that there is a difference between a job seeker visa and a work visa. Having a job seeker visa does not allow one to start working immediately in Germany.
